Edith Kneifl was born in 1954 in Upper Austria. She studied psychology and ethnology in Vienna. After extended periods in Greece and the USA, she returned to Vienna, where she now works as a psychoanalyst and freelance writer. In addition to her thrillers, she has also writes for film and television. Zwischen zwei Nächten was awarded the 1992 Glauser Prize for the best thriller in the German language.
