Marc Buhl was born in 1967 in Sindelfingen, Germany. He studied German and English Literature, politics and business economics. During and after his studies, he undertook long journeys, especially to the deserts of Africa, Asia and America. He worked as a journalist for various press agencies and newspapers. In 2002, he published his first novel Der rote Domino (The Red Domino). Rashida oder Der Lauf zu den Quellen des Nils is his second novel.
