Peter Stephan Jungk was born in California in 1952, but grew up in Vienna and Berlin. Since 1977 he has been an independent writer, based in Paris. Alongside his novels and short stories he has written a biography of Franz Werfel as well as numerous film scripts and radio plays. In 2001 he published his fictional biography of Walt Disney, Der König von Amerika (The Perfect American,) with Klett-Cotta.
