Felicitas Hoppe

was born in Hamelyn in 1960 and now lives in Berlin. Her first novel Picknik der Friseure (Rowohlt, 1996) was followed by Pigafetta (Rowohlt, 1999), which she wrote after a trip around the world on a freighter In 2003 came Paradiese, Übersee (Rowohlt) in 2003 then in 2004 Verbrecher und Versager (marebuchverlag). She has won a number of important prizes.
