Zoran Drvenkar is one of the best known German children's book authors. He has worked as a freelance writer for over a decade, producing many books for children and teenagers but also novels, poems and plays. He has been nominated for several German literary awards and won the 2005 Deutsche Jugendliteraturpreis, the most important German children's literary prize, for his novel Der Kurzhosengang to which this is the sequel. Zoran Drvenkar loves a joke, so he published both these books under the pseudo-Canadian aliases of Victor Caspak and Yves Lanois. Readers and reviewers puzzled for a long time about who the real authors were, and the secret wasn't disclosed until the Deutsche Jugendliteraturpreis nomination.
Ole Könnecke
born in Göttingen in 1961, was brought up in Sweden. With his characteristic style which mixes words and images, he is considered to be one of Germany's most brilliant illustrators. He lives in Hamburg.
