The Prizes of the Leipzig Book Fair are awarded annually to outstanding new works in the three categories. This year’s prizes were awarded at a public ceremony held at the Book Fair on 22 March 2007.
Peace Prize
The winner of this year’s Peace Prize of the German Book Trade is Saul Friedländer. He shall receive the prize on Sunday, October 14th in Frankfurt’s Church of St. Paul. Established in 1950, the Peace Prize promotes international tolerance by acknowledging individuals who have contributed to peace, humanity and understanding among all peoples and nations of the world through their exceptional activities, especially in the fields of literature, science and art.
