Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag (dtv)
is one of the most important publishers of paperbacks in the German language. Founded in 1961 by a group of publishing houses who jointly wished to publish their hardback books in paperback at a later stage, dtv has also developed an important list of titles in original editions, which now represent some 30 percent of its publications, the best known being the dtv-atlases. Other quality paperback lists include contemporary fiction, classics, human and natural sciences, reference and dictionaries, self-help manuals, and a strong junior and young adult list.
