Ingrid Noll was born in Shanghai to German parents, and studied German philology and art history in Bonn. She is the mother of three grown-up children. When these left home, she started to write crime stories, which all became instant bestsellers. Head Count received the Glauser Prize and is just one of her novels which has been successfully adapted for the screen.
