Arno Geiger

was born in Bregenz in 1968 and now lives in Vienna. Hanser has published the following books of his: Kleine Schuhe des Karussellfahrens (1997), Irrlichterloh (1999) and Schöne Freunde (2002). Geiger was awarded the Abraham Woursell Award in 1998, and the Friedrich- Hölderlin Prize in 2005. <

The firm publishes fiction and non-fiction for both adults and children. Its authors include Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco, Jostein Gaarder, Las Gustafsson, Milan Kundera, Harry Mulisch, Philip Roth, Susan Sontag, Botho Strauß, Raoul Schrott, Rafik Schami, Alfred Brendel, Elke Heidenreich and ten Nobel prize-winners, among them Elias Canetti, whose works have been translated into more than twenty different languages.
