Gila Lustiger

was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1963. From 1982 to 1986, she read German and comparative literature at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Since 1987 she has been living and working in Paris as an editor, translator and author. As well as being shortlisted for the German Book Prize, she was longlisted for the Prix Médicis.

Berlin Verlag is also known for its work in developing promising, young German writers, such as the acclaimed Ingo Schulze, Elke Schmitter, Irina Liebmann, Marcus Braun and Gila Lustiger as well as the plays of Elfriede Jelinek, Nobel Prizewinner in 2004.
