Christoph Hein
born in 1944 and now living in Berlin, has written novels, novellas, short stories, plays, essays, and a children’s book. In 2002, Suhrkamp Verlag acquired the world rights to all his works. Willenbrock was the first book of his to be published by them and went on to be made into a successful film. Hein has won many major literary awards including, most recently, the prestigious Schiller Memorial Prize and the Austrian State Prize for Literature. His work has been translated into several languages.
